DAMTEC® KRAIBURG USM - ballast mat is a decoupling mat beneath rail systems. In the railway (railroad /am.) construction it is used as sub ballast mat, and in mass spring systems it is an elastic layer. These track-bed mats reduce structure-borne noise as well as vibration emissions. The service life of the ballast is lengthened by lower and more even stress.
A special mixture of rubber granulates, microcellular rubber and polyurethane foam on a recycling basis, bonded with PU-elastomer, provides the desired effects.

The advantages of the track-bed mat DAMTEC® KRAIBURG USM can be summarized briefly:

- protection of the sensitive sealing (waterproofing) layer against damage from ballast
- reduction of structure-borne noise
- reduction of secondary air-borne noise
- protection of adjacent buildings by reduction of vibrations
- can be also used for mass spring systems
- uncomplicated installation
- extremely long service life

DAMTEC® KRAIBURG USM - ballast mat has been tested at TU Munich, TU Dresden, Müller BBM and other institutes regarding their physical characteristics.
